Our Programs

At Jack Barnes Elementary, we are proud to offer a wide variety of programs to our students. We invite you to learn more about them below, and give us a call at (480) 987-7400 if you have any questions.

Our Learning Programs

Every child learns at an individual pace, which is why we provide programs that help every student grow and thrive. Our academic services include the following:

After-School Enrichment Classes

JBE offers a wide variety of after-school enrichment courses that include Chess Club, 3-D printing, Running Club, yoga, and art.

Discovery Kids

The Discovery Kids before and after school programs are conveniently located at each of the elementary schools. This program provides before-school and after-school programs for students in grades k–6th grades. Additional day camp experiences are offered for students on non-calendar days during fall, winter, spring, and summer breaks. Daily activities include homework time, board games, reading, organized games, outdoor play, and projects with emphasis in areas including arts and crafts and STEM.

Lead Out Loud (LOL)

This group consists of fourth through sixth grade students. They help plan school-wide activities and social events but focus on community service projects. Our LOL teacher advisers are Kandace Reyes and LeAnn Tucker.

Principal's Advisory Committee (Pride PAC)

Third through sixth grade students meet with the principal on a regular basis to discuss student concerns, suggestions, or issues.

Student Council

We are proud to support a student government organization that serves as the voice of Jack Barnes Elementary. Officers that are voted in by the student body include a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and council representatives. Student Council focuses on planning school-wide student activities, social events, and our Student Council staff adviser is Miss Huston.
